There’s a story to this one.
Maybe, after yesterday’s photo of my last working day at the old office, you would have expected the first day at the new office. Hey, even I expected that, so I can’t blame you. But… the working day was just too busy and long, no time to take such a picture.
Instead, on the way back home (by bike) I photographed this gas station. I had a picture like this in mind for some time, and what a coincidence that this was the day that the gas price reached a new all-time high (it has broken that record since then, don’t worry…). Euro 95, the most common type, is EUR 1,649 in this picture. The general advice price on this day however reached EUR 1,757. That’s per litre. I’ve written down in my photo logbook for January 13 that at the exchange rate of that day that would be US $8.44 / gallon, for those of you at the other end of the big pond. So, how much are you paying over there, nowadays?…

Holy, crapola! Even for the US consumer addicts, that would be a hard pill to swallow! There was a blurb over the weekend, that come April, gas prices may come to hover around the $4.25 a gallon mark in the country, and that caused some dread and shaking of heads!
This past friday, I refilled my gas tank for the first time since before Christmas… not because I have a fuel efficient car (like I would prefer), but, because I walk to work all the time. Like you, I used to ride my bike all the time, but since I moved closer to where I go to work, I just simply walk.
I miss riding my bike, Which I no longer have, as of moving to where I am now (it fell apart, and just haven’t gotten a replacement yet). But, where I am currently residing, it’s just not a very biking/pedestrian friendly locale. I miss going for leisurely bike ride.
