The uncropped original versus the cropped photo of yesterday. Which do you prefer, and why?
For me, the uncropped photo works better, despite what I had expected.

Sorry to disagree, but prefer the cropped version, because it takes out that sliver of grass in the lower right hand corner.
Indeed, it was the grass that I got rid of in the crop. I thought it would make the image “stronger”, more focussed. And while that may (or may not) be true, I feel it also means losing a sense of the scale of things. In some cases, that is a good thing, but in this case, I’m not so certain. Those are just some of my thoughts.
I prefer the cropped version too. Yes, less sense of scale in the crop, but more “focus” indeed.
