Autumn 6

The day I started the “autumn” assignment, it was a rainy, rainy day. I’m talking cats and dogs here. Normally, I would stay at home. But I was in the city center already, meeting the photo group, getting the assignment. So, why not start while I’m here? Autumn isn’t necessarily about the colours of the leaves. Autumn can also be rain, wind; cold, uninviting weather.

Initially my “autumn” assignment went the way of that uninviting element. But just when you WANT more of that nasty weather, you get sun, sun and more sun, so in the end, the assignment did go the way of nicely coloured autumn leaves. You can’t win them all.

Just showing one shot of the other side of autumn.

Yes, this is a good one, this *is* autumn. It feels wet, grey and the highlight is cool.
I do wonder however if a tighter crop (without the bikes in the back) would be even better. Either that or even less DOF for some more blur…

Yeah, hands down my favorite of the series so far!

Okay, it seems there’s a consensus. Next year, stick to what I can handle, which is black and white. It does not pose problems with my colour vision deficiency, and it gets good critics. 😉

And Niels, I agree about the bikes, but I wanted to show somehow that this was a city shot, and this seemed like a way to do that.
