One of the constants (or not, if you like) of this site is that sometimes a new item is posted, but most of the times things stay quiet for a long time. I tried to be off to a good start this year, 3 posts on January 1, 2, 3. But then, things went quiet again.
That doesn’t mean I’m not doing anything photography-related. So, I thought I might try to do things a bit differently for the next few blog items. Instead of just scanning and posting a photo, I’ll just show you in a slightly different way what I’ve been working on.
First there’s this. I can’t blame you if you don’t remember, but over the years, I’ve posted some photos that I used for the “APUG Postcard Exchange”. To my dismay, I see I never created a category for these, so they will be hard to find on my site. (Update: I see I did create a tag for them, so you may just be able to find a few more using the tag.) Just another thing that goes to show that I might need to redo this site big time. But not now. Anyway. This APUG Postcard Exchange, yes, I was a bit behind in printing and sending my cards for round 38. End December, beginning of January I finally selected a negative and printed my cards. It’s always special to see 15-odd prints of the same subject, so before sending, I took a (yes, digital) photo of those prints.

Cool, Jacco. Those look like cool postcards (and look like they printed well)… what’s the image? Have you posted it full size here before somewhere?
Thanks, Jeff. The image is of a castle wall with an opening in it, and a swallow entering the frame top left. The swallow really completed the picture. I saw it entering the frame when I had my eye pressed to the camera, finger on the shutter, didn’t hesitate, and it came out like this.
The full-size image is not posted here (yet), because, well, as it is, I can’t find the time for scanning negatives or photos at the moment. But I will keep this in mind, I’ll try and show it here someday (the ever so (in)famous “someday”…).
Ah, I was wondering what that was in the upper left corner… good swallow photo-bomb help making what looks like a cool shot, even better!
